I do! In my former life I was a bench scientist: technically a chemist, but operationally a yeast geneticist. A few years of undergraduate chemistry research at Wellesley College and I was convinced that grad school was for me. Short-lived thought. A few years into a chemistry PhD program at Stanford University I was looking for a way out of research. Fast forward a few more years and I’m a neurology postdoc at MassGeneral Institute for Neurodegenerative Disease and Harvard Medical School. Now you’re wondering, “Why the postdoc….?” Let’s just say I wanted to have a go. Didn’t last long.
Thus I find myself now immersed in the nebulous “alternative” career path in science. My “alternative” choices include science outreach and policy work, writing and editing. If you want to know more, here’s my LinkedIn Profile.
